Final Development #Week 11
In this week I did development on the cover page and decided to make the book title “Happiness” and i did some test print to test typography font is readable or not.
This is the previous title, which is “Happiness in You” and the back cover tryouts
Further Development #Week 10
In this week i try to adjust the scenes that i had on my story board as i didn’t include the criteria for the competition. Because 32 pages must include half title, fly sheets and credits page) so i need to cut some scenes and make the adjustment.
These are the character development from when was fine until she had the eating disorder.
Semester Break #Week 9
In this semester break i try to finish most part of the scenes. I did try different layout and also visual angle in the pages. Some are continuous spread, some are scenes without background, or just a simple background.
I also use Yellow-Orange color to show “the happiness” in the symbol of an ice cream as the main character favorite thing.
some scenes will show the fallen ice cream to show “the sadness” as “the happiness” is falling.
Background Development #Week 8
In this week it try to add on more texture and maintain the color theme for the pages. As the story involved with ‘scary’ theme, i used mostly combination of Black and White color to show the scary part, which also to feature the main character more (the colorful one). Like the example below

Interim presentation #week 6
On this week, our class are doing Interim presentation for this subject. Below is the slide presentation for this subject.
I did some improvement on the character, I make the girl fatter to match with the story plot.
I did some tryout on few pages on both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to see which one works better for the background,
I find out using Photoshop can bring more the page atmosphere out compare to the one i did by using Illustrator. I’m still working on choosing which typography works better for each different scenes.
Character Design #week 5
I tried to do the character design for the story. And here are a few characters illustration and also picture books that inspired me.

Story Board Progression #week 4
I decided to go for the second story which is about eating disorder. I choose to go for this topic because it’s the current issue that’s currently happening in the society. That’s why i hope the message from this project can reach out to those people who’s been struggling with this issue. The primary target audience will be woman with eating disorder and the secondary target audience will be society (including family and friends).
This is the sketch on how the story plot will be look like:
Story Board Proposed #week 3
The first story is about a girl (A) who got a mirror as her present. The narration and the plot view is written from a mirror point of view. The first scene starts with the meeting of mirror and ‘A’.
The story goes to tell that ‘A’ begin to lose her confident with comparing herself to her sister. The story ends with a happy ending.
The second story tells about a girl who has an eating disorder caused by her society. The story tells about how a normal girl turns to be afraid of food.
